Schon um 1100 wird im Kloster Freckenhorst (bei Oelde ) der Name " Domus Weppel" in den Aufzeichnungen der Güter geführt."Droste Heinrich von Weppel 1260"verkauft sein Amt und seine Besitztümer an Kloster Mariefeld und tauscht dafür andere ein. 1300 taucht der Name "Domus Weppel" und Weppelman in Ascheberg und Ottmarsbocholt auf. Von dort ziehen im 16 Jahrhundert Weppelman nach den Niederlanden, im 20 Jahrhundert nach Australien, USA und Südafrika - sowie auf ganz Deutschland. Soweit uns die Namen in den letzten fünf Jahren bekannt geworden sind, haben wir sie hier aufgelistet und eingearbeitet.
